I support couple’s and individuals to work through their life problems from an approach that is rooted in the wisdom of the body, trauma informed, and based on an understanding of our hardwired need for connection and healthy attachment. I see in all of my clients the part that is seeking, and being pulled toward wholeness, and a desire for healthy connection, with oneself and others. Together we explore what is holding you back, and I journey with you to unglue the stuck parts so they can be free for connection.

My unique gift is helping you to access that wisdom of your body, the part of the body that knows how to heal old and unconscious patterns that are getting in the way of living a fuller life.

I have spent many years working with my own inner critic to allow her experience to emerge, and be met, both in counselling, and spiritual practice and the intersection between the two. I have formed a self-connection that stands strong through the ups and downs of life. Working with my own therapist and many teachers has shown me the places that I could not have seen alone, much less find the courage to enter.

And this is what I hold for you - a space to move deeper into those places that can be hard, and sometimes impossible, to enter alone. In this work, we walk through those places, and out the other side, together.

My Background:

I obtained my Masters in Counselling from the University of Victoria in 2008. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I am passionate about the intersection of counselling, the body’s wisdom, and spiritual space. I have spent two decades training in both spiritual wisdom traditions from around the world, as well as cutting edge body and attachment based counselling approaches like Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Hakomi, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP).

Couples Work:

I also know first hand the challenges that come with partnership, and the way that partners can trigger each other’s ‘raw spots’, which then escalate into cycles of heightened conflict or distance. These are painful and lonely times.

I also know that these very relationships are also the ground in which healing can happen.

I specialize in couple’s work which is rooted in attachment/relational theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I adapt my skills to serve different cultural, sexual orientation, and gender expression realities. I integrate a trauma informed perspective into all my work, including my couple’s work.

My Therapeutic Approach:

My goal is to support you to let go of the patterns that are getting in the way of your life, whether these are within yourself, between couple’s, or within families. You may have already tried to solve or think your way out of the issue, but often these deeper core beliefs that are running the show are embedded below our conscious mind. This is where we travel to together.

I fine-tune my skills so they are just right for you. With the wisdom of the body guiding us, we can discover a different way of doing things, changing the brain’s neuro-pathways of what is possible for you.

I also hold a space of accountability to stay the course as we work through processes that lead to more life affirming choices. All this and more, I bring to your door. I do look forward to taking this journey together.
